SUNY Geneseo Cracks Peace Corps’ Top 10 Colleges

SUNY Geneseo ranked No. 8 among medium-sized schools on the agency’s list of top 25 volunteer-producing colleges and universities in 2020. For the past six years, Geneseo has consistently ranked within the top 25 medium-sized schools. This year marks the highest ranking for the College since entering the ranks in 2014. There are 25 alums currently volunteering in countries around the world.

Geneseo Named Top Fulbright Producer for Third Year Running

金牌澳门平台For the third time in the college’s history and the third consecutive year, SUNY Geneseo has been named a Top Producer of U.S. Student Fulbright awards, the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announced in its annual article in The Chronicle of Higher Education.

SUNY Geneseo Awarded NSF Grant for Undergrad Research

金牌澳门平台The National Science Foundation’s Division of Astronomical Sciences has awarded a $166,212 grant to SUNY Geneseo to support a collaborative undergraduate research project on understanding stellar structure. The three-year grant, led by professor of physics Aaron Steinhauer, will fund two undergraduate researchers per year and travel to telescopes in Arizona and Australia.

Service and Research Boost Washington Monthly Rankings

金牌澳门平台Washington Monthly magazine has again ranked SUNY Geneseo second overall among master’s universities for its contributions to the public good across three broad categories: social mobility, research, and promoting public service. To be at the top of the ranking, colleges need to “be excellent across the full breadth of our measures, rather than excelling in just one measure,” the editors note. It’s the seventh year in a row that Geneseo has been in the top five of their classification.

Princeton Names SUNY Geneseo a 'Best College'

SUNY Geneseo has again been selected by The Princeton Review as a "Best College" for undergraduate education. Geneseo also appears on their Best Regional Colleges list for the Northeast and 399 Green Colleges list.

金牌澳门平台SUNY Geneseo has been named to Forbes’ 2019 “America’s Best Value Colleges” list, ranking 115th on the comprehensive list of 300 public and private colleges, up from 175th when Forbes first began the ranking in 2016. The College ranks fifth out of the ten SUNY institutions on the list.

SUNY Geneseo is ranked No. 13 among medium-sized schools on the Peace Corps’ 2019 Top Volunteer-Producing Colleges and Universities list. Currently, 22 Geneseo alumni are volunteering with the worldwide program.

The College was named to Washington Monthly’s "2018 America’s Best Colleges For Student Voting" list. This is a first-of-its-kind list of the colleges and universities that are doing the most to help their students become engaged citizens.

Geneseo Named to Princeton Review's Green College List

SUNY Geneseo is included in the newly released 2018 edition of The Princeton Review’s Guide to 399 Green Colleges. The College has consistently been included in the annual guide since it was first published in 2010.

SUNY Geneseo Named a Lead Institution in Civic Engagement

For the seventh year in a row, the College has been named as a Lead Institution in civic engagement by NASPA. Geneseo is one of 72 colleges and universities in the U.S. chosen as a Lead Institution. The College was honored for its ongoing commitment to developing socially responsible citizens through its curriculum and co-curricular programs.
